Former Apple, Microsoft User Interface Designers Talk Shop

"Looking to the future, both Cordell Ratzlaff, formerly of Apple, and Mark Ligameri, formerly of Microsoft, agree that operating system user interface design is moving away from a windowing system because content consumption is replacing content creation as the primary use for a computer.

This year's South by Southwest (SxSW) Interactive festival, which concluded Tuesday on the eve of the famed music festival, served up a number of interesting panel discussions, but none of greater interest to Mac users than Tuesday's "Behind the Scenes: Developing OS X and Longhorn," which saw two former user interface designers at Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) -- now co-workers at Frog Design -- come together to discuss the design considerations that have gone into Mac OS X and Windows XP/Vista."   continued ...   (Via Technology News)
